Advent Day 10

Marie Olding – Respecting Others

Her nomination said:

Photo of Marie Olding My daughter was admitted in septic shock in April and was looked after on Penrose Ward for the night before being transferred to Bristol Children's Hospital. Sister Marie Olding looked after us and whilst she may say that she was just doing her job, I would like to commend her for the support she gave us as a family. We arrived in pieces, still trying to take in the enormity of the situation. We had gone from my daughter having a sickness bug to being on a ventilator, requiring surgery in such a short space of time.

She showed great compassion and empathy for us. Now that the dust is settling and my daughter is thankfully recuperating at home, we are so grateful to this lovely lady. As a family we would like to thank her from the bottom of our hearts.

Also nominated were:

Julie Snelling, REI Cay Case Unit

Timothy Murray, Bickleigh Ward

Sophie Limpus, Stannon Ward
