As you may know, planned industrial action has been announced by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) on Thursday 15 and Tuesday 20 December.

At University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust we have a continued focus on getting patients safely home from hospital. Derriford has launched a campaign with staff and families to help get patients ‘Home for Lunch’.

Today, 8 December, marks the 2 year anniversary since the first COVID-19 vaccination was administered as part of the biggest vaccine campaign in the history of the NHS.  

Last year our Disability and Wellbeing Network (DAWN) was successful in securing funding from WDES (Workforce Disability Equality Standard) to run a campaign in the Trust to encourage our staff to tick the disability box on ESR. Since the launch of the Tick the Box campaign, our Disability declaration rate has gone up from 4.4% to 5.5%.
