Could physical activity be good for alcohol and substance use disorders?

A team of researchers from Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry and Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, has received funding of £154,000 from the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) programme, to carry out a systematic review of research to see if and how physical activity and exercise could help those with alcohol and substance use disorders.

Resounding South West patient support for health research

Taking part in health research comes highly recommended by patients in the South West who felt valued and well looked after as study participants.  The findings of the second annual Patient Experience Questionnaire (PEQ) survey carried out by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network: South West Peninsula found that patients taking part in studies viewed their experience very positively.
