Save the date: South West GIRFT Symposium Workshop

alt On Wednesday 30th October, University Hospitals Plymouth is hosting a South West GIRFT Symposium Workshop.

There will be a GIRFT programme update from Professor Tim Briggs and updates from clinical projects across the Trust. Please see below for the full programme.

Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) is a national programme designed to improve medical care within the NHS by reducing unwarranted variations. By tackling variations in the way services are delivered across the NHS, and by sharing best practice between trusts, GIRFT identifies changes that will help improve care and patient outcomes, as well as delivering efficiencies such as the reduction of unnecessary procedures and cost savings.

The event is designed for UHP and Trusts across the South West footprint, clinicians, clinical staff, improvement leads, managers, finance, performance and system colleagues.

Each clinical project will identify the following:

  • The GIRFT metric responded to or best practice referenced
  • Clinical change which resulted
  • What is now different for patients?
  • What is now different for the organisation?
  • Evaluation of the benefits realised
