The team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust has been shortlisted for an award at the NHS Communicate Awards 2021. The ceremony will take place tonight, virtually, were we’ll find out the winners to the 10 different awards up for grabs.
The NHS Communicate Awards are organised by NHS Confederation and NHS Providers, in association with the Centre for Health Communications Research (CHCR) are designed to recognise the achievements of communicators across the NHS and celebrate innovation in the sector.
The UHP communications team is shortlisted for the Communications Team Health and Wellbeing Award, which recognises the contribution that communications makes to the successful implementation and delivery of health and wellbeing initiatives and programmes for staff in their organisations.
In the last year, the team has created a dedicated online ‘Support Hub’ with advice for psychological, practical, physical and professional wellbeing: from accommodation for people working in red zones to be safely distanced from vulnerable family, to coping with working from home, to coaching for managers and mental health first aid training.
With HR colleagues, the team created a month-long listening programme ‘Emerging Stronger’, as well as virtual Trust-wide conversations. The Communications team held listening forums for staff from all areas who worked in the COVID and non-COVID zones to understand what would help them recover and feel recognised for their intensive work.
The communications team is also key in supporting the staff networks and their members, and involved in many more initiatives.
The UHP Communications Team was also shortlisted, earlier in the year, for two CIPR excellence national awards.
