A big thank you to the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes

We’d like to say a big thank you to the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB) for their incredibly kind donation of £3,200 to the children’s wards at Derriford Hospital.

The RAOB present a cheque to Sue Rodgers, Children's Happy Hospital Fund Members of the organisation from Plymouth and East Cornwall joined together to raise the money by holding various events, including a skittles match and a Christmas dinner. They also held raffles and auctions, and even sold football scratch cards and pickled onions to raise funds.

“I suggested that we raise money for the Children’s Happy Hospital Fund (CHHF) this year,” explains Brian Tack, a member of the RAOB. “I’d spent a lot of time in the hospital last year, having had three major operations, and I wanted to give something back.

“Our original aim had been to raise £2,000, so we are really pleased with the final total. We feel that, as long as it helps to make the children staying at the hospital a bit happier, then we’ve done our job.”

“It’s such a lovely surprise,” adds Sue Rodgers, Play Service Team Leader at Derriford Hospital and Fundraising Co-ordinator for CHHF. “These funds will make such a big difference to the facilities that we can provide for the children who attend the hospital, and their families.

“We’d like to thank everyone at the RAOB for their generosity and support.”
