Mrs Sweett presents the cheque to Primrose staff
A local Devonport woman, Mrs Sylvia Sweett, presented a cheque for over £1600 to staff at the Primrose Breast Care Centre on Thursday 11th February.
Mrs Sweett said: “I’m making the donation in recognition of all the wonderful work that goes on at the Primrose Breast Care Centre.
“I have known a number of people who have received treatment there and I wanted to show appreciation and support so they can carry on providing their excellent services.”
Mrs Sweett raised the money through a series of events over the past 15 months including sponsored walks, table-top sales and cake stalls. She also organised two sponsored runners in the Plymouth half marathon and put on a disco evening.
Dr. Jim Steel, Consultant Radiologist at the Primrose Breast Care Centre said: “We are very grateful for this donation from Mrs Sweett. It is a very substantial donation indeed and we all admire her determination and dedication in raising such an amount.”
