Consultant in Acute Medicine
General information:
Dr Finnegan qualified from Liverpool University in 1978. He worked in the North of England, obtaining MRCP in 1981 and completing an MD in 1987. He completed higher medical training in General (Internal) Medicine and Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Free and Royal Brompton Hospitals in London. He subsequently became Medical Director of the Chester Hospice for 5 years before moving to Manchester as Consultant in Respiratory and Palliative Medicine in 1996. He subsequently became Medical Director for the Division of Medicine and developed an interest in Acute Medicine. Appointed to Derriford Hospital in October 2010.

The diagnosis & care of acutely ill medical patients in the first 24-48hrs of their admission to Hospital. Respiratory and Palliative Medicine.
