Consultant Physician / Endocrinologist

General information:
Daniel Flanagan MD FRCP is a consultant physician and endocrinologist. He graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital London. His medical training continued in London and then Wessex. In addition he has held positions as visiting lecturer in the University of Adelaide and an Associate at Yale University School of Medicine USA.
He is an honorary senior lecturer at the Peninsula Medical School.

General areas of expertise:
He is part of the diabetes and endocrine team at Derriford Hospital providing both a general diabetes and endocrine outpatient service

Particular areas of expertise:
Within the field of diabetes he has a special interest in intensive glucose monitoring and the management of hypoglycaemia.  Sub-specialty interests in endocrinology include thyroid disease and neuroendocrinology and pituitary disease.
