Plymouth Child Development Centre is a multidisciplinary Specialist Child Development Centre which provides both initial outpatient assessment and continuing treatment and support for children. 

The centre offers help to children with developmental disorders that may result in physical, sensory, communication, emotional or learning difficulties. 

Most of the children referred to the centre are seen by one of the consultant paediatricians but can be referred to a specific service, such as speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy or psychology. 

Our team of specialists and therapists work together to address each child’s difficulties and needs on an individual basis. 

An important ethos of the centre is that the management of any child should be shared with the parents throughout.  All information is shared openly with parents and they are actively involved in any decisions made about the future of their child.
