Children in Day Theatres:
A majority of children's surgery can be done as day cases and return home the same day. Most of this will occur in Plym Daycase Unit. The facilities have been developed to be as child friendly as possible and all the staff are familiar with caring for children before and after their operation.
The following facilities are available in Plym:
• pre-operative play area with games including table football and a Playstation
• wall murals to brighten the place
• decorated anaesthetic rooms with toys
• play area in recovery
• motorised cars and bikes to drive to theatre on!
