Patients and Visitors
We understand this is a worrying time for people with Parkinson’s. The most important thing is to stay safe. Guidance is changing daily. Up-to-date advice can be found on the Parkinson’s UK website:

At Plymouth Hospitals, we have converted all our clinics to telephone appointments. If you have a clinic appointment booked, then you should be receiving a letter about the switch to telephone. A member of the Parkinson’s team will call you at the time of your scheduled clinic visit. In some cases, it will be necessary to cancel the clinic visit altogether (for example due to limited staff availability), but we will try to keep our service running as best we can.
We are continuing our support of all people with Parkinson’s admitted to UHPNT. If you are admitted to the hospital, we will provide advice to the nursing and medical teams looking after you, and will come and see you in person if needed.
Our Home Based Care service will be continuing as normal, and we will ensure that the phone line and the email Inbox are checked daily. Remote monitoring will continue, so please do send back your questionnaires when they are posted out to you. Please remember the Home Based Care Facebook group, which is a good source of information and support.
For people who were planning to attend a training event for Home Based Care, we unfortunately have had to cancel these. However, we are developing alternative training options, and will be in touch with you shortly about this.
