What's New

The aim of the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Cancer service at the Trust is to provide age appropriate cancer treatment & facilities for patients between the ages of 15 -24yrs, whilst recognising the unique needs of this patient group. This requirement is balanced against the need to provide services as close to the patient’s home as possible, but ensuring the patient receives high quality, safe and effective care.

For the South West region, Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust is one of six designated shared care centres (SCCs) working alongside University Hospitals Bristol, the designated Principal Treatment Centre (PTC) for TYA patients with cancer. Our Trust became a designated shared care centre for the care of Teenage and young adults with cancer in June 2013.
