Types of Research

The ultimate aim of clinical research is to create an environment that will benefit patients and the public by improving national health, increasing national wealth, and enriching world knowledge. Research at UHPNT includes both commercial and non-commercial research projects as well as academic research studies.

Commercial Research

Commercial studies are developed and funded by pharmaceutical industry.

Non-Commercial Research

Non-commercial research is a study which has been developed and managed by the public sector or charitable bodies, a university, a government department, research council or a research funder.

Academic Research

Academic research is typically carried out by those undertaking a PhD, MDS or MSc and is sponsored and supported by the academic institution
