Work Experience

Work Experience Placements for School/College Students
Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust (PHNT) are able to offer a limited number of work experience placements for students aged 16 years or over via Trident.

Adult Work Placements
You may be thinking about a career change or have been out of the work place for some time. Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust are keen to support adults wishing to obtain experience in an administrative area.

You will be given support from other staff whilst gaining experience of working in a new environment and building confidence for applying for roles within the hospital when you are ready.

If you are interested, you may be able to obtain support from our partner organizations in the community or you can contact Karen Launder, Recruitment Team Leader who will give you further information on 01752 439783.

Clinical Work Experience, Placements/Volunteering
If you wish to become a volunteer or have an ongoing placement in a clinical area, such as a ward, you must be aged over 16. Please note that these placements are limited and with that in mind, the placement must be for a minimum of 6 months, albeit on a part time basis e.g. one day/half a day a week or at weekends. This type of voluntary work may suit you if you are considering a career in one of the caring professions or if you are taking part in a scheme such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

If you are interested in having a medium/long term work experience placement in a clinical area, please contact Elizabeth Pollard, Voluntary Services Manager via the contact us form
