Our children’s wards have received a big boost thanks to a generous donation from a firm that chose the Children's Happy Hospital Fund (CHHF) as their charity of the year.
Clark & Weeks solicitors, Plympton, visited level 12 to donate £2,100 to CHHF after focusing their fundraising efforts throughout the year to the charity.
Mr Martin Weeks, Partner at Clark & Weeks, presented a cheque on behalf of the Plymouth Law Society as their President. The money was raised through ticket sales for the annual Plymouth Law Society dinner, raffles, client donations and by contributions from employees.
Mr Weeks said: "As President of the Plymouth Law Society, I wanted to find a local charity to support and I am delighted that we have been able to raise funds for the Children's Happy Hospital Fund to spend on the practical support so badly needed by children and their families and which I know will make a difference to their lives."
Sue Rodgers, Play Service Team Leader, said: “I would like to say thank you to Mr Weeks for choosing the Children’s Happy Hospital Fund as his charity to benefit from fundraising whilst he is the President of the Law Society.
“It was a fantastic surprise to receive such a large donation, which will make a massive difference to the children’s wards. We are a small charity and rely on the generosity of groups and individuals to enable us to provide all the extras that make staying in hospital better.”
