Kate Leeves completes England’s longest zip wire to raise funds for Oncology and Chemotherapy Outpatients

On Wednesday 5 September, Kate Leeves and a group of her friends took on England’s longest zip-wire to raise money for the Oncology and Chemotherapy Outpatients department at Derriford Hospital.

Kate along with 12 friends, whose ages range from 14 to 80, completed the ‘Hang Loose’ zip-wire over the Eden Project, which covers 660 metres and has a travelling speed of up to 60mph.

Splash'ED' appeal refocuses fundraising efforts

In November we launched the fundraising appeal ‘SplashED’, with the aim of creating a beautiful underwater-themed extension to the children’s Emergency Department. Since then we have been given the fantastic news that the Trust has been awarded £30million to build a brand new Urgent and Emergency Care Hub. Given the fantastic news, we have decided to make a change to the original appeal.
