05 July 2020 marks 72 years since the NHS began.
During the last few months, the NHS has been through the greatest test in its lifetime. And we will continue to deal with the many challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic for the foreseeable future.
Every single one of you has worked so hard to ensure that our organisation coped and continues to cope with the additional pressures we have faced. We want to use this opportunity to thank you once again for all that you are doing.
We have experienced many difficult times during these months. So this year, as we remember all those affected by the pandemic, the way we mark our anniversary will have a different feel to years gone by.
Every week of the pandemic, we have seen the communities we are here to serve show their love and appreciation for the NHS and our partners at Livewell, Nuffield, Argyle, Peninsula and many more across our region. And so many have done their bit during the difficult weeks of lockdown.
So we want to use our 72nd anniversary as an opportunity to say thank you back. To thank them for helping us to help them.
