Treating COVID-19 Patients

The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. At UHP we have put in place measures to ensure the safety of patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services continue to be available to the public.  We have been planning extensively over recent weeks and are now receiving and caring for patients with confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) in isolation, following all the national guidance. We are also working to help delay the spread of the virus within the community, by placing some necessary restrictions on visiting and switching people's face-to-face outpatient appointments to telephone, where possible. Thank you to our local community for supporting us in caring for our patients at this time.

Note to editors:

Please note we will not be commenting on individual cases or the number of patients we are caring for. Updates will come via the national daily updates shared on this page on a daily basis at 2pm until further notice.

A more detailed breakdown of cases by upper tier local authority will be published on this page
