Consultant Haematologist working in a team of 6 Consultants.
Collectively we have clinical responsibility to patients with Haematological disorders and provide an advisory service to the local healthcare community on clinical and laboratory aspects of Haematology.
We are the regional bone marrow transplant centre.
We are very active in clinical trials (national & international)
General areas of expertise:
Sub-speciality interest in Haemostasis & Thrombosis.
Director of the Haemophilia Centre and currently chair the Peninsula Haemophilia consortium and representative on the National Committee (UKHCDO).
I also have an interest in general Haematology and necessarily maintain an active participation in the on-call rota, thereby requiring expertise in all aspects of malignant Haematology.
Particular areas of expertise:
Platelet involvement in disease processes.
Bleeding disorders (inherited & acquired)
Currently sit on the National committee for Haematology (BSH) and national guideline committee (BCSH)
