“Clinical trials mean that we have specialities for everything on our doorstep”

Each year on 20 May, International Clinical Trials Day is held to commemorate James Lind, a Scottish physician in the 18th century, having begun his trials into the causes of scurvy. As this day approaches, Professor Syed Hussain reflects back on his first year working with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, discussing his current research into bladder cancer treatments, and why clinical trials so are important to the people of Plymouth.
