Men’s Health Week: 14 - 20 June 2021

Men's Health Week raises awareness of the health issues that affect men and boys disproportionately and focuses on getting men to become more aware of health problems they may have or could develop and gain the courage to do something about it. The theme for this year is a campaign of men’s mental health in the era of Covid-19.

For Men's Health Week 2021, we need to raise awareness of the struggles many men are experiencing with their mental health as we slowly re-open and adjust to a post-Covid world - if you want to find out more about how to get involved, click here.

On a Trust-wide level, our Communications Team and Counselling Team are working together with our Men’s Conversation members, as well as a host of both internal and external guest speakers to raise awareness and educate colleagues. Certain issues affecting men, such as work/life balance, mental health, loneliness, the importance of talking, how to seek help, financial troubles, working in a high-profile public position and pressures, as well as personal stories, will come together in a podcast series. Stay tuned for further information in the coming weeks.

For personal support, please visit our Support Hub or email us on plh-tr.staffnetworks@nhs.net to be added to our mailing list for the Men’s Conversation groups- an open forum for discussions to take place where we warmly encourage men to talk openly and confidentially about issues which are important to them, led by Dr. Jamie Read.
