November 19th 2020- International Men's Day

What is International Men's Day?

Every year we celebrate International Men’s day on November 19th which appropriately coincides with Movember.  Many of you will be aware that Movember involves growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide and is an opportunity to raise funds to support relevant charities.  International Men’s Day support this as well as celebrating role models and to raise awareness of issues that men face on a global scale such as cancer prevention, toxic masculinity, and alongside Movember to talk openly about mental health issues and suicide which is the main reason for death in men under 45.

Please look out for further information about the emerging stronger conversation to talk about issues affecting men at UHP including what matters to you, equality, inclusion, diversity and mental health which will be hosted by Nick Thomas, Deputy Chief Executive.
