Siblings step to success

The honey family

The Honey family have raised thousands of pounds for Plymouth Hospitals Charity by walking over 1000 laps of their home in Cornwall. Madison aged 12, Jayden 10, and Esme Honey, 4, from Trebullet have raised a staggering £2,500.

During lockdown, the siblings were challenged by their Grandfather, Phil Honey to undertake a sponsored walk. They decided on 44 miles as the distance, which is the total mileage from the Honey household to Derriford Hospital. With lockdown restrictions in place, the family added to the challenge by deciding the walk would take place around their bungalow – totalling an astonishing 1320 laps, including two lots of steps either side of the house.

They completed their laps just before the ‘Clap for NHS’ on Thursday evenings and the challenge took them three weeks to complete. Their fundraising total is currently at £2,500 and still rising!

Phil Honey said: “We would just like to thank all those who have kindly donated and encouraged the children to carry on with the walk.”

Thank you Madison, Jayden and Esme from everyone at Plymouth Hospitals Charity.
