Maternity
Why work for us?
As a Midwife at PHNT there is the opportunity to gain experience and contribute to patient care in all areas of the Antenatal, Intrapartum and Postnatal settings.
We have an established rotation programme where teams of approximately 9 whole time equivalent midwives rotate throughout the inpatient and community areas. This enables staff to gain and maintain their skills in all aspects of midwifery care.
Following a preceptorship period as a band 5 midwife and some consolidation as a band 6 , there is the opportunity to apply for an Off Rotation Expert post providing support to other members of the team to enhance their leadership and management skills thus preparing them for the next step in their career should they wish to progress.
There are many specialist midwifery roles within the Trust, such as risk management, antenatal screening and safeguarding should people have a particular interest in a specific aspect of care.
