Consultant Neonatologist
Alex Allwood qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 1992. In 2003 he became the second consultant neonatologist to be appointed to Derriford Hospital having trained in Birmingham, London and south west England. In addition to specialty training in neonatal medicine he has trained in paediatric cardiology at the Royal Brompton Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Bristol Royal Hospital for Children

Clinical informatics and benchmarking – Peninsula lead for the Vermont Oxford Network neonatal benchmarking programme.
