Dr Claire Bethune, MRCP MRCPath graduated from Cambridge University (with clinical training at St Bartholomews Hospital London). Following General Medical training in Oxford she trained as an Immunologist in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Dr Bethune was appointed as a Consultant Immunologist in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 2003 and moved to a consultant post in Plymouth in 2004.

Clinical and laboratory immunology
Within the department of clinical Immunology and Allergy based on the Eden Unit in Derriford Dr Bethune manages patients with immunodeficiency, allergy and angioedema. Paediatric patients with immunodeficiency are managed jointly with Dr Ives consultant paediatrician.
Particular areas of expertise:
Primary immunodeficiency, immunoglobulin home therapy, angioedema and Allergy.
Dr Bethune is the lead clinician for the peninsula immunodeficiency service.
