Dr G Bihnam

Dr.Bihnam graduated from Mosul University of Medicine in 1989 and subsequently undertook specialist training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine.
In 1995, she moved to the United kingdom, where she obtained sponsorship from the Royal college of Anaesthetists and commenced specialist training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth. She subsequently continued her specialist training at Derriford Hospital.
Dr.Bihnam later moved into Trauma and Orthopaedics working as an Orthopaedic Physician developing particular clinical interest in perioperative medicine and the optimisation of patients undergoing surgery.
Alongside her clinical responsibilities, Dr.Bihnam has developed extensive experience in medical education, training and professional leadership. She is a GMC recognised trainer and serves as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for the Foundation Programme in the South West, she is also a Trust appraiser and has contributed to undergraduate medical education as an ISCE Examiner for Peninsula Medical School.
Dr. Bihnam currently serve as SAS Chair for Hospital Medical Staff Committee, representing and supporting the interest of Specialty and Associate Specialists (SAS) Doctors and Dentists, contributing to medical staff leadership and professional development.
Her Career reflects a broad commitment to clinical excellence, perioperative care, medical education, professional development and leadership within the NHS .
