Searching the book catalogue and your account
Searching the Library Catalogue
Go to the SWIMS knowledge resource
Type the title or keyword into the search field and click on Search
Look through the results list to find the latest or correct edition you require.
Click on the title to find out which libraries in the South West region hold that book.
Look for Plymouth holdings to see if we have a copy, the shelf mark (to find it in the library) and if it is Available, On Loan or Unavailable
Book loans:

STANBK: Standard loan book is a 28 day loan

SHRTBK: Short loan book is a 7 day loan
-
REFBK: Reference book is Reference only and not for loan
Advanced Search screen
Search for combinations of different fields. You can also use this to search for ISBN or books with a specific classmark (shelfmark)
Restrict by location: View all stock matching your search in the SouthWest NHS region (which we can borrow on interlibrary loan)or select just material available at Plymouth Derriford Hospital (location)
Restrict by material type: You can limit by material type. If you find a Plymouth electronic book that you wish to use, click on the files link for the book and log in with an Athens username and password- register for and OpenAthens account
Create an account
Under Username, type in your library barcode. Then click on the Reset your pin link on the right of the screen. You will be sent an email to create a password PIN.
In your account you can:

Renew your items
