General information:
Dr Boon trained at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St Thomas’ and qualified in 1988. She undertook her SpR training in the Bristol region and obtained her consultant’s post at Derriford Hospital in 2003.

General areas of expertise:
Dr Boon is Emergency Department (ED) lead for Falls, Bone Health, Elderly Care, Venous Thrombo-embolism and the ED link with Acute Medicine. Dr Boon is one of the organisers of ED induction. She is Chair of the Regional Practitioner Forum and ED link with the Minor Injuries Units that feed into Plymouth Hospital NHS Trust. She is a clinical link with the Humanities Department at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry (PCMD).

Particular areas of expertise:
Dr Boon is a medical officer for the British Antarctic Survey Medical Unit and is PCMD lead for the Special Study Unit in Environmental Medicine.
