Dr N Bothma
Associate Specialist in Emergency Medicine
Dr Nanette Bothma graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 1998 and moved to the UK in 2003. She joined the Emergency Department at Derriford Hospital in 2006 and is now an Associate Specialist in Emergency Medicine.
Alongside her clinical role, Dr Bothma has a particular interest in digital health and the use of clinical information systems to improve patient care, clinical workflows and the working environment for frontline staff. She is a Medical Information Officer for the One Devon Electronic Patient Record programme, with particular expertise in the Epic ASAP Emergency Department module.
Her wider interests include clinical governance, emergency care improvement and medical education. She has previously served as Chair of the UHP SAS Committee, an elected member of the Local Negotiating Committee, Clinical Guidelines Lead for the Emergency Department and Chief Medical Information Officer.
