Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon
General information:
Mr Camp started his Plastic Surgical training in 1995 and has worked in some of the Country’s largest and busiest Plastic Surgery Units, including those in Leeds, Billericay, Liverpool and Swansea.
During his training he spent a year researching aspects of intra-cellular signalling in oral cancer and gained an MSc in Surgical Science. He became a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Breast Surgeon in Swansea in November 2005, moving to Derriford Hospital in November 2007.
Mr Camp is the lead Plastic Surgeon for breast reconstruction and the treatment of breast asymmetry. He also treats most of the patients who gain funding from the NHS for more cosmetic breast procedures such as augmentation or reduction.
At Derriford Hospital Mr Camp runs general Plastic Surgery clinics for Adults and children as well as a dedicated clinic for patients requiring breast reconstruction and treatment of other abnormalities of breast appearance. Once a month he attends Liskeard Hospital where he runs a local anaesthetic operating list and a general Plastic Surgery clinic.
Mr Camp is the clinical governance and audit lead for Plastic Surgery and a member of the hospital’s skin cancer multi-disciplinary team. He is committed to working for the NHS and also practices in the private sector at the Plymouth Nuffield Hospital.
Outside of Medicine he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children. He enjoys gardening, specifically growing fruit and vegetables making cider from his own apples.
