Dr M CatolicoConsultant in General and Paediatric Anaesthesia, Chief Medical Information Officer

General information: Dr Catolico qualified from the University of Bristol Medical School in 2002. He trained in Emergency, Acute Medicine, and Anaesthesia across Plymouth, London, and major teaching hospitals, including UCLH, Barts and The London, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Moorfields Eye Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, with advanced experience in paediatric anaesthesia, NICU, and PICU care.

He achieved his CCT in 2014 and was appointed Consultant in General and Paediatric Anaesthesia at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where he also served as Clinical Governance Lead for six years, before moving to Derriford Hospital in 2023.

Dr Catolico has supported the Care Quality Commission as a Specialist Advisor since 2014 and has long-standing involvement in humanitarian paediatric anaesthesia in the Philippines and Vietnam. He was appointed Chief Medical Information Officer in June 2024 and is part of the clinical informatics leadership team delivering the Epic programme across Devon.
