Staff in our Eden Unit, a centre for treating adults with immunodeficiency and allergies, would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Waitrose Saltash after they were selected for the store’s Community Matters programme.

Despite finishing their race minus two paddles, a broken flag pole and a bent and battered metal frame, the valiant efforts of colleagues from our Estates Mechanical and Electrical Team, who took on the Totnes Raft Race in October, helped to raise an admirable £492 for the children’s wards at Derriford Hospital.

Treatment for urinary incontinence, offered to women by our Urogynaecology Department, will be changing significantly, thanks to a generous donation by the Derriford Hospital League of Friends.

Young patients, who have received or are receiving treatment for cancer, at Derriford Hospital, have officially opened a newly-designed space on Bracken Ward.

The team on the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) Thrushel at Derriford Hospital wish to say a very special thank you to the family and friends of the late Mr Phil Whitton for their kind donation, which was used to purchase radios for the bays and cubicles.

Coming into hospital can be very daunting, especially for children. Thanks to the Charitable Funds Committee, an MRI play scanner is now available on our children’s wards, to prepare children for their MRI scans in a far less daunting environment.

Our children’s wards have received a special gift, kindly donated by the Children’s Happy Hospital Fund (CHHF).

Families of loved ones who have sadly passed away will now be welcomed into a refreshed and calming environment, thanks to our Charitable Funds Committee.
