Consultant Dermatologist

General information:
Dr Chave grew up and was educated in Devon.

He studied medicine at Sheffield University, graduating in 1994.  He then worked in various specialties in Doncaster, Exeter and Queensland Australia until obtaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1999. Thereafter he specialised in dermatology and underwent further training in Cardiff and Leicester before obtaining specialist registration in dermatology in 2004.

Dr Chave has been a consultant dermatologist since 2004, initially in Truro and since 2007 in Plymouth.  He runs clinics in Plymouth and also in both Tavistock and Kingsbridge.

General areas of expertise:
Skin cancer and benign skin lesions.  All general dermatological conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, acne.  Skin allergies and patch testing.  Drug reactions.

Dr Chave has extensive experience of rare dermatological disease and has published over 40 papers and abstracts, and presented at many national and international meetings.

Particular areas of expertise:
Dr Chave has a particular interest and expertise in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and pre-cancerous skin lesions, including both non-surgical and surgical treatments.
