General information:
Mr Currie trained at St Thomas Hospital in London, qualifying in 1992, achieving a first class degree in Anatomy and Honours in Surgery. He completed his basic surgical training in London, Oxford and Bristol, and subsequently moved to New Zealand as a registrar in Plastic Surgery. Mr Currie was awarded the Mark Hannah research fellowship in 1999 and returned to the UK to work at the Blonde McIndoe Centre for medical research in East Grinstead where he completed an MD in wound healing. He was awarded the European Tissue Repair society award in 2002. Mr Currie completed his registrar training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Bristol and Plymouth and then moved to Australia and New Zealand to complete his specialist training in hand and wrist surgery, microvascular surgery and paediatric hand surgery. He was appointed as a consultant in Plymouth in 2008.
