Farmkiss, Dr L
Dr Luke Farmkiss is a Consultant Histopathologist at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, where he serves as Co-Head of Department for Cellular Pathology and Clinical Lead for the lower gastrointestinal histopathology service at Derriford Hospital. A Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and Honorary Clinical Fellow at Plymouth Medical School, he has specialist interests in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology, particularly the mismatch repair pathway in colorectal cancer.
Dr Farmkiss is also an assessor for the UK NEQAS for Immunocytochemistry and In Situ Hybridisation Mismatch Repair Immunohistochemistry External Quality Assessment scheme and has published peer-reviewed work in gastrointestinal pathology and molecular diagnostics. Alongside his clinical practice, he has led major workforce and service improvement initiatives within histopathology, including recruitment, demand and capacity analysis, and turnaround time optimisation.
