Mr A Fitton
Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery
General information:
Mr Antony R Fitton qualified at the Royal London Hospital in 1989 with distinction in Surgery. He trained in centres in London, Cambridge, Merseyside, Wales and New Zealand and has undertaken research into peripheral nerve regeneration, facial anatomy, facial reanimation and burn reconstruction. In 2002, Mr Fitton was awarded a higher degree of MD.
Mr Fitton is on the specialist register of the GMC. He was appointed to the post of Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust in 2002.
He has recently been appointed as the clinical director for Plastic Surgery and Dermatology.
He holds specialist clinics for hand surgery and general plastic surgery every week and is a core member of the Head and Neck Surgery Team
General areas of expertise:
Mr Fitton works with a team of Plastic Surgeons to provide a service for general plastic surgical reconstruction including reconstruction of the lower limb and breast. He works closely with colleagues in colorectal surgery and cardiothoracic surgery to manage complex cases of perineal and chest wall surgery.
