Dr Danielle Franklin
Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist
Dr Franklin graduated from the University of Southampton in 2007 and completed her anaesthesia training across various hospitals in the South West and her specialist paediatric anaesthesia training at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney, Australia. She has been employed at UHPT since 2017.
Dr Franklin has an interest in anaesthesia patient experience research. Other interests include the use of quality improvement (QI) methodologies integrated with human factors approaches to improve care, particularly looking at system design.

General anaesthesia for children
Particular areas of expertise:
Paediatric anaesthesia and paediatric anaesthesia preoperative care. Providing care for all children who need expertise in the Southwest in the Southwest Peninsula Children’s Surgical Unit, a NHSE GIRFT accredited hub.
Human factors: designing the system around the users. Teaches Human Factors to resident doctors of the Southwest.
