General information:
Tim completed both his medical & higher degree (in advanced brain monitoring techniques) as well as his Neurosurgical training in Bristol. He then spent a year as the first neurosurgeon to complete the National Orthopaedic Spinal Fellowship in Nottingham. He started in his current position in January 2001. As well as managing a busy clinical practice he is involved in research and teaching both nationally and internationally.

General areas of expertise:

• Neurosurgical and orthopaedic spinal surgery.

Particular areas of expertise:

• Tim has a particular interest in minimally invasive (key hole) spinal surgery as well as reconstructive spinal surgery (trauma and cancer).
• His current research interests include causes and management of back pain and measuring outcomes from spinal surgery.
