Our hospital is extremely busy, and we have seen a large number of attendances to our Emergency Department. If you need medical help and advice the 111 phone or online service can refer into Emergency Departments or direct to Urgent Treatment Centres/Minor Injury Units if needed. However, always call 999 in a life-threatening emergency.

National industrial action update Monday 02 October to Thursday 05 October: Consultants, Junior Doctors and Radiographers

Planned industrial action has been announced by the British Medical Association (BMA) for both consultants and junior doctors, as well as the Society of Radiographers. It means Consultants and Junior Doctors will be striking on Monday 02 October (from 7am), and finish on Thursday 05 October (7am). Radiographers will join the strikes on Tuesday 03 October (8am) and finish on Wednesday 04 October (8am).

National industrial action update 19 to 22 September: Consultants and Junior Doctors

Planned industrial action is due to take place involving Consultants on the 19 and 20 September, and junior doctors on the 20, 21 and 22 September.

Industrial action is a national dispute between the Government and Trades Unions about terms and conditions. We are committed to keeping patient and staff safety as our priority. We know that striking is an extremely difficult decision for colleagues to make and we respect the right of our consultants and junior doctors to take action.
