General information:
Mr Marchbank is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon with an interest in surgery for lung cancer, arterial revascularisation, mitral valve repair and off-pump coronary artery surgery. He is also the Caldicott Guardian for the Trust, advising on confidentiality and data protection issues. He has responsibilities for thoracic surgical data collection and audit, and is the previous Lead Clinician for lung cancer, and former Chairman of the Lung Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Support Group. Mr Marchbank is the Surgical Lead for the Cardiac MDT and the lead cardiothoracic surgeon for surgical care practitioners (SCPs), having started the programme to locally train SCPs, and is the Lead Peninsula Clinical Supervisor for SCP training. He is an associate lecturer at the University of Plymouth and Clinical Lecturer, Peninsula Medical School. He is Chief Investigator for ANTICS Trial, and Principal Investigator for the PulmiCC and SMART Trials in Plymouth.
