• Since 2004 Dr Murphy has taught advanced arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder surgery to trainees and consultants on twice yearly national courses as a senior faculty member of the 'Watanabe Club'

• Founding programme lead, lecturer and clinical co-ordinator of the UK’s first multi-disciplinary MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine, University of Exeter

• Lecturer and examiner on MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine, University College London
