Consultant in Emergency Medicine

Qualifications: BA (oxon), MBBS, MRCP, MCEM, FCEM

General information:
Dr Newstead trained at Oxford University and the Royal Free Hospital and graduated in 1999. Dr Newstead worked in London initially, where she did a medical rotation and gained her MRCP qualification. Dr Newstead then returned to the south west where she did further training in anaesthetics and intensive care before taking up a specialist registrar training post in Emergency Medicine. Dr Newstead became a Consultant in 2012.

Particular areas of expertise:
Dr Newstead has a particular interest in the interface between Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine, she also has an interest in procedural sedation in the Emergency Department.
