Consultant Neurosurgeon

James Palmer graduated from The London Hospital and completed neurosurgical training in Southampton and Glasgow. In 1996 he was appointed to a consultant neurosurgeon post at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London where he was responsible for developing acute head injury care, ran a specialised facial pain service, and developed surgery for spasmodic torticollis. In 1999 he moved to Plymouth and his practice has become increasingly specialised to the management of CNS tumours, acoustic nerve tumours, skull base neurosurgery, hydrocephalus and stereotactic radiosurgery.
