Retiring after 48 years: Roselyn
Roselyn’s NHS career has spanned an impressive 48 years. Her journey began as a trainee nurse in Scotland with her later moving to Plymouth.
In Plymouth she started work in the Freedom Fields Maternity Unit and remained there for four years. She then moved to Mount Gould hospital where she expanded her skills and experience by working in the Trauma Orthopaedic Ward and completed an Orthopaedic Diploma Qualification.
Roselyn’s next step was to move to Derriford Hospital where she gained further knowledge and expertise in different areas. During this time she worked in Orthopaedics and Rheumatology and spent a brief spell in the Ear, Nose, and Throat department. She finally secured a position in Dermatology where she spent the rest of her career.
In the Dermatology department, Roselyn was a key member of the Phototherapy team and contributed to the nurse-led services. This included involvement with setting up the Photodynamic Therapy service in Plymouth.
