Dr A Rickard Consultant in Emergency Medicine

Qualifications: MB ChB, MRCGP, FCEM

General information:
Dr Rickard trained at Bristol University and graduated in 1998. She worked briefly in the south west before the British Army took her to Germany for two years. On returning from regimental duty, Dr Rickard completed training as a GP and gained her MRCGP qualification. Interspersing training in Emergency Medicine with several deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, Dr Rickard completed training in the west of Scotland and then in the south west of England, at Derriford Hospital and The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. Dr Rickard became a Consultant at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust in 2013.

Particular areas of expertise:
Emergency Medicine in general. Department lead for Patient Safety and Simulation. Human Factors Training, Teaching in general and Faculty on the Peninsular Trauma Team Training course.
