Laparoscopic Upper Gastro-intestinal Surgeon
Mr Sanders MD FRCS graduated from St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington (now Imperial) in 1992. He did a majority of his general surgical training in the South West, with specific laparoscopic training occurring both in Australia and France. Specialist Oesophago-gastric surgery training was undertaken in Plymouth, Bristol, Montpellier and Lille. He was appointed as a consultant Oesophago-gastric surgeon in UHP in 2007. Since then, he has also held a variety of management roles including Oesophago-gastric Service Line Director (SLD), Emergency Surgery SLD, and more recently Care Group Director for Surgery and Anaesthesia, a post he has held since November 2019. He continues to practice clinically, splitting his time equally between his clinical and management responsibilities.
