General information:
Mr Thengungal Kochupapy is a colorectal surgeon with expertise in colorectal problems including anal fissures, haemorrhoids, fistula, inflammatory bowel disease and bowel cancer; as well as laparoscopic hernia and gall bladder surgery.

He has special interest in trauma surgery and is a national expert in ATLS.

He is keen to pursue improvement of undergraduate medical education.

Mr TK has a strong clinical research background and has presented regularly at various international and national surgical forums, including publications and obtained Brendan Devlin award from British Hernia society.

Mr TK has trained in general and colorectal surgery including laparoscopic colorectal surgery from Wales. He completed his undergraduate medical education followed by postgraduate degree in general surgery from Dr MGR University in India. Prior to training in UK he worked as a Assistant Professor in India, followed by a few years of practice as a specialist general surgeon in the ministry of health in Oman.

Mr TK underwent training in Bristol Children's Hospital and performs general paediatric surgery in Derriford Hospital.
