Dr W Thomas
Consultant Haematologist 
Dr Thomas trained at St.Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in London. He completed his Haematology training in the south west. He is Vice Chairman of the General Haematology NEQAS steering committee and sits on the BSH general haematology taskforce. Dr Thomas co-authored the NG8 NICE guideline on the management of anaemia in chronic kidney disease.

Particular areas of expertise
Dr Thomas has an interest in iron deficiency. He has co-authored guidelines and papers relating to its management in chronic kidney disease and how to diagnose within the laboratory. He is the Haematology laboratory lead for the Haematological malignancy diagnostic service and for blood transfusion.
